We have a variety of tour options that depart at various times. Our morning tours usually depart around 7:00 – 8:00 a.m. with check-in being 30 min prior. Our afternoon and sight-see tours depart at various times depending on the season and ocean conditions. Check your booking confirmation for the correct departure time!
-
Each tour has itʻs own advantage!
Morning tours tend to be calmer, as the trade wind hasnʻt picked up as much yet. The water could be “glassier” and there is less traffic down the Nā Pali. The morning tour also gives you the afternoon to enjoy at your leisure.
Afternoon tours tend to have better lighting which is great for photos, rainbows, and general scenic views. Wildlife is also more active. This option also gives you more time in the morning to commute, have a meal, and get some rest if youʻre jet-lagged or had a fun luau experience the night prior 😉
-
Yes, our tour is family-friendly, but keep in mind that the boat ride can be adventurous at times. Children must be 4 years or older to join.
Your safety is our main priority! We want all of our guests to have the best experience possible.
If you have specific concerns (like mobility limitations), feel free to reach out so we can recommend the best options for you.
-
Safety is our priority! If ocean conditions are unsafe, we may reschedule or cancel the tour. If canceled, you will have the option for a full refund or rescheduling for another day.
-
Basic swimming ability is highly recommended!
We do not recommend snorkeling if you do not know how to swim.
If the captain and crew determine that your ability to swim is limited, they may direct you to not snorkel out of a concern for not only your own safety, but the safety of the entire group.
However, each captain and crew is a highly qualified waterman and CPR certified.
We offer flotation devices to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable while in the water.
-
Our custom built vessels were designed with this purpose in mind! We enter sea caves most of the time.
However, entering sea caves is highly dependent on ocean conditions. Each captain is instructed to enter sea caves as they see fit, we trust each and every one of their expert judgement.
-
Check-in is located along the white picket fence by Wai’oli Church. Free parking is available, and we recommend arriving 30 minutes before departure to allow time for check-in and boarding.
A shuttle will be present 30 minutes before departure to check you in and provide you with free dry-bags.
Look for a white sprinter-style van with the Nā Pali Coast Tours logo on the side.
-
Gratuity is not included in the tour price but greatly appreciated. Our captain and crew work very hard to give you an exceptional experience!
We provide the option for an online gratuity when you book or recommend bringing some cash or using the Venmo app on your phone.
We recommend 15-25% for an exceptional experience!
**For some of our international guests where tipping is not common in their culture, we encourage tipping as a customary service practice while on their trip to the USA, as it is an important part of a service workerʻs income in America.
-
Our tours are conducted on custom-built power-catamarans. The dimensions of each vessel is built with the Nā Pali in mind: small enough to get into those sea caves, but robust enough to handle the conditions exceptionally.
We believe this vessel offers the best experience of the Nā Pali possible. Smaller tours make for a more personalized, fun, and intimate experience!
-
A catamaran is a vessel designed with a double-hull, meaning two separate parts of the boat touch the water with a hollow space in between the hulls.
The Polynesian people are the inventors of the catamaran design. As a Native Hawaiian run company, we follow in the footsteps of this expert maritime culture and are proud to perpetuate their incredible ingenuity.
-
If you’re prone to seasickness, we recommend taking motion sickness medication 24 hours prior to your trip and an hour before departure. Please note that some motion sickness medication can cause some slight drowsiness.
Ginger chews and wristbands can also help!
Let your captain and crew know if you’re experiencing seasickness while on your trip. They have some remedies that might help.
Our captain and crew will do everything possible to ensure a smooth ride, but ocean conditions vary.
